Weeks after week and £££'s spent on Vets to no avail, but after a day of guidance Jemma, the German Shepherd makes a speedy skin recovery

Gemma
12 yrs old
German Shepherd
Issue - Skin

My German Shepherd Jemma who is almost 12 years old, has, on and off for about 6 years, been suffering with a painful, itchy, red raw lumpy elbow. Over the years we have paid a huge amount of money on vet treatment for her. We have tried various creams, ointments and steroids which did help a little. She has had some relief from this for quite a while until recently she lost her best canine friend, which seemed to trigger her skin issue off again, worse than ever before. So for the last 8 weeks we have spent £600 plus on vet treatments which made no difference at all.

I had a very nice message from Judi from Nature's Physician asking how we were after the loss of our other dog Tia. I told her about Jemma's elbow and to my surprise, apart her from offering to Scan Jemma twice a day  she suggested we try the ointment not cream used to treat piles. I felt this was rather strange but since I trust Judi completely I decided to give it a try. After only one day of treatment applying the ointment twice, there was a huge improvement,  we continued twice daily then after about 10 days once daily. It's been almost 2 weeks now and Jemma's elbow is dry, no redness, no itching, not painful at all, so, as suggested by Judi, we are just applying the ointment every other day. .... I never would have thought of using pile ointment. A big thank you to Judi for helping to make Jemma's life so much more comfortable.

These are the photographs which shows how quickly Jemma's sore has healed up, although, as can be seen we still have a bit to go, but after being under the Vets for x amount of weeks but with little difference, to see the change in this wound, thanks to Nature's Physician's suggestions after such a short period of time, is just wonderful.

To see Jemma not being irritated by this horrible sore is such a relief and we hope that it can only get better and better from here on in.

We are also, as suggested by Nature's Physician,  continuing to give her a set amount of Glycerin in her food which can be absorbed both internally and externally.

If we had thought about contacting Nature's Physician at the beginning we could have had a much much happier dog and saved ourselves 1000's of pounds in the process.

The Lesson in this, remember medication doesn't always work and that using an alternative way is always an option. Never give up trying and never give up looking for a way to resolve an issue.

11th November 2015

We are so sorry to inform you that Jemma, the Aged German Shepherd has now gone over the other side of Rainbow bridge. Her wound healed up remarkably well but it was her inability to walk latterly that finally took her from her most loving and caring owners.

Not only have we written a poem in tribute to her but one of our readers also posted one up, and in view of the fact that you have been following her progress we thought we would share them with you. For many you will know what it is like to lose a much loved, friend and companion. . .

Kabu, the Elephant who will touch the hearts of many

Kabu is indeed one elephant who will touch the hearts of many, and will become a beacon for other elephants with a similar cry for help no matter the type of exploitation. More people will become aware of many elephants lives through her and others such as Raju, Sunder, Pearl, Annie or Carla.

As you will all know by now we support, send strength and follow, with a massive heart, many animals and humans in need of help. On the Elephant front  Raju, Sunder, Pearl, Carla and others have been on our List and will remain there until their end of time.

This story of Kabu has totally touched our hearts and indeed many others we are sure. But if you have not heard of her, perhaps we can share her life from here on in with you and keep you updated regarding her progress.

Kabu, one of the many logging elephants, who should have been pulled off this job many years ago . . take a look for yourself , has to be one of the worst cases of a working elephant. She had been dictated to work, once again by human kind, with hugely painful legs and shoulders until yesterday when Lek Chailert  and her Team as well as Volunteers at Elephant Nature Park started, with Kabu,  the long afternoon walk to a point where she could be loaded safely and then transported over a 12 hour journey to Elephant Nature Park  in Thailand.

Words need say no more as the pictures are enough, they may bring a tear to your eye, just as the link at the top to her video footage may have done, but it is so  important that the world we live in truly knows what is going on with, in this instance, the elephants of our world.

How heart rendering is this dreadful picture

We can not believe that any one would ride an elephant in this condition

Lek and her team asked the rider to get off Kabu . .  he respected their wishes!

One of the many breaks they took to get to Kabu's rescue vehicle

Kabu being encouraged to walk a bit further

On the way to Elephant Heaven

On the road

And still on the road

Kabu catching a well deserved nap, perhaps with a hint that she
is now surrounded by people who care  but more importantly silently
knowing that she will never ever have to pull another log or logs out of any rough
and hard going terrain.

More Photo's to follow . . .

We can not wait for her to arrive at Elephant Nature Park where she has a wonderful sand bed, thanks to Darrick Thomson, to support her body and aching joints and of course cheeky Navaan and his Aunties to smell, touch, massage and just generally share elephant time, but more importantly chain and spur free.

Kabu's story needs to go viral, it needs to be heard in every land of our country so that others never suffer the same, perhaps you could help to spread the word, share this with your local news station or the BBC  world Service.

Kabu's arrival, 12 hours later . .  and how humbling are these photographs . . . . as humbling is the amazing bed that Darrick Thomson had created out of sand for her and her deformed shoulders, knees and back.

The emotions that all who awaited her arrival must have been sky high especially when they saw her walking with their very own eyes. We totally feel for them and Kabu.

Here she makes contact with a young elephant, perhaps reminding
her of the calves she had taken from her, which we believe Lek is trying to track down.

We asked Darrick yesterday if he could send us a picture of her bed that he had so thoughtfully created for her body mass and structure, and bless him, through our night he sent a video clip of her assessing it with a view to her lying down.  Fingers crossed that she did and if she didn't we are sure she will soon. She must be truly exhausted. We will forward a picture of her special bed later on today . . .

Yesterday Logging and today - photographs thanks to Lek and Elephant Nature Park

These photographs say it all . . freedom forever
no more logging, no more whipping, no more chains
no more ridden work but more importantly no more beating.

But in the meantime, if you are passionate about our elephants of tomorrow and want to know other pages that support elephants in other parts of the world and pages that are supporting an 'ivory ban' which would make sure that in 15 years time we don't just have digital elephants left, then feel free to go to this link and scroll through any that trigger your hearts strings.  On behalf of all suffering, chained, electric probed, broken  spirited elephants and calves  of today thank you.  Link to other facebook pages

A wonderful gentleman, a friend of Lek and Darrick, who is sadly in hospital has also asked us to put a link in here in the event that any one would like to help one of 21 Elephants, all of whom were confiscated by the Thai Government from Kanchanaburi Camp. ENP have a year to find the funds for this otherwise they will go to the first bidder and possibly end up in a zoo a circus or as a logger or tourist elephant! Many of these elephants are related, some young, some older, some with mental health issues, but ultimately they know each other and separation is one of the biggest issues for a natural herd animal like an elephant. So, to learn more please follow this link -  thank you.  As an update on this paragraph, as of this day 150929 15 of these elephants future has been secured thanks to everyone's donations, if you were one of them who contributed to this, thank you so, so, so much.

As an added footnote, we would truly like to thank every single one one of you who have shared this post today,  there have been a mass of shares which must, surely, have spread the word about the life of many of our elephants and their cry for help. True factual stories like Kabu's will already have helped 1000's more people be supportive of our Elephants cry and wish to have their voice and choice heard. So for those of you who had no idea such dreadful existences happens, please, stay with us, comment on any messages you see on any of the Elephants facebook Pages, but above all thank you for speaking from your hearts. Eventually hearts will rule the world.

One of the saddest bits of news regarding Kabu is the way her bull calf died . .  he died during the 'crushing'

"Sadly, this is the RULE not the exception. MANY hundreds die during the "crush" OR "phajaan" as it's called every year; (breaking the elephants spirit and body)" says Carol Vooght Boldt

"Half of the elephants put through phajaan(breaking the spirit) will die. Of those that survive, “About half will go mad,” says Elephant Nature Park founder Lek Chailert.

On to happier news  -  another update on Kabu and how quickly Lek and Darrick at Save Elephant Foundation and Elephant Nature Park manage to get down to their Mission of helping Kabu. As you can see from this photograph taken by Lek's team they have started to desensitize her to an xray machine so that they can assess the best way forward.

Little did Kabu ever think that humans would go to this wonderful extreme for her.

We are so, so pleased that she has been given this chance and that so many people are now following her progress through Save Elephant Foundation, Elephant Nature Park, all the people who are posting on facebook as well as individuals Sites similar to this one.

However, we also have to thank the individuals who are helping to fund her future and of course any forthcoming treatment which we are sure will not be cheap.  Perhaps if you have a few spare dollars you would be interested in this link.

Kabu is definitely a beacon for other elephants safety, sanity and over all well being.

On behalf of her, thank you for following her ..

We will be sharing more information and photographs on our facebook page and will add more here in due course.

In the meantime please keep sending Kabu strength and courage to cope with her next stages of her book of life and send Lek energy to find Kabu's little female calf. .  what a joyful day that will be indeed.

Third day in and look at her now . . . free to wander, free to choose whether she goes as close to humans or not ..  this next photograph is beautiful, it makes you want to put your hand through the screen to touch her ..  thank you Lek for posting these beautiful photographs.  . . .

and this one, look at the swirls she has made with her trunk, you can almost here the water splishing and splashing.  .  Elephant heaven indeed. No chains, no rope restraining her, just the knowledge that she can trust . . .

But best of all for today has to be this beautiful video where you can feel the sheer joy of being able to scratch her body, every muscle and nerve ending, the decades she has been waiting to be able to do this makes today even more special. Just fantastic. Interesting to see that she seems to be able to put a fair amount of pressure on her negative shoulder, making us think that indeed her bones have grown to suit her disability.

And here is a resume on Kabu's past, thanks to Lek Chailert and her team at Elephant Nature Park, Save Elephant Foundation and of course all their Volunteers who joined them on this Mission of rescuing Kabu . . .  a heart filled thank you to you all.

Press here Kabu's History

And a massive thank you to the BBC World Service for organising this Documentary

We have had a lovely message posted on our facebook page from a Mr Phillip Storry, who was lucky enough to be volunteering at Elephant Nature Park to greet Kabu on her arrival. So from the 'elephants mouth' as they could say " We first met Kabu last Tuesday night when she arrived at the enp. The next day we got to help build a bed for her as she sleeps in the face plant position as she can not get up and down like normal elephants at this stage. At 3.30 pm we got to witness a lot of the elephants meeting Kabu for the first time ,this was special as there was a little noise and a lot of trunk touching and smelling done by the herd. At 4 pm we got to walk with Lek and her team to the river (approx 300 metres ) she covered this walk with ease. She was then splashed and bathed with water , you could she she was lapping up the loving. After several minutes she again took off and crossed the river to see what was on the other side......I am guessing she loves her new home"

Thank you so much Phillip for your wonderfully refreshing words and for truly giving us Kabu's feeling of total relief.

Remember you to can volunteer at Elephant Nature Park

And the latest photo - does this not just make your heart totally fill up with happiness.
Freedom to choose, freedom to have her own voice -
Just as it should be for all Elephants.

More to follow, . . .

And just a couple of weeks later and here she is . . .

Not a working day in sight,
Nor a human screaming,
No strangling of neck or feet
or ropes burning or chains a rattling!
Just kindness from all she meets,
Not aches from all the pulling
or the sores from all the beatings.

Happiness, Contentedness,
Love, care and a mass of attention
yet time to assess by her new Fig Tree,
Time for Kabu to totally feel free.

Thank you all at Elephant Nature Park

And to a photograph taken on 3rd November 2015 -  thanks to Jodi at Elephant Nature Park. This picture says it all.

The smiles, the companionship, the trust, the happiness in her smile and her eyes gleaming with

'At last I am free,

I am able to be me,

My heart is filled with Glee,

I have kind friends here you see,

they don't strike or hurt me,

and I'll never ever have to pull any trees,

Thank you all and every one at ENP'

And to an update on Lauder Lass and the forewords in her book

As many of you know we work with a variety of animals and humans), one animal we  took on board because we knew she would have no other chance other than being sent to the 'Meat Man' but for her to experience the traumatic procedures for such a move would either have damaged a human or indeed human(s) or herself in the process, all because she was so, so scared of humans, and naturally so after all the damage that was clearly apparent as the time has gone on.

Lauder Lass, with the help of all her friends and supporters wrote a book called Lauder Lass, the Horse who touched the hearts of many' which was given amazing Forewords by Juanita Wilson

Charles Muller publisher and Author, " Editor-in-Chief, MA (Wales). Ph.D (London), D.Ed (SA), D.Litt. (OFS). Dr Muller, formerly a Professor of English, is the author of academic books published by McGraw-Hill, Macmillan and Oxford University Press, and has served as the Editor of two journals of university English departments. He has also written and published a wide range of novels and inspirational books" - Quote from Diadem Books).

and Mary Crockett Writer and Editor

has gone way beyond many experts thoughts and imagination. Many experts in the Equine world (including Vets)  thought, she would never learn to trust again and should just be bulleted or released (but how any one could have got near her at the time to bullet her or release her was way beyond our nightmares of nightmares). She has had Expert Show jumpers, Hunters, Alternative practitioners and many heart filled lovely people visiting her over time. Many of them said, we wouldn't know where to start, or we wouldn't have the time but more importantly we wouldn't have the patience.  Is it not the case that it is the latter that seems to be out of most people's equation now, the speed of our every day lives has made us become greedy, impatient and intolerant to take time to understand. We all seem to be running against the clock with our fast cars, planes, bikes and motorbikes.

Yet given time, many, like Lauder Lass and the other animals and humans we have had the privilage of working with have all completely reaped the rewards of this 'patience, and giving each their voice and choice and understanding' but it's an understanding of who they are and not an understanding for what we want them to be or not to be that has won hands down each time, when other methods and traditional methods of categorising and shoving them from pillar to post just has not worked and indeed never will work, especially for such sensitive individuals as the ones we are asked to work with.

Creating this book with Lauder Lass was truly inspiring because of the input from all her visitors. There were artists, who never realised they were artists, there were poets who never realised they were poets, then there were the extremely talented artists, Bill Haley being one of them and of course last but not least the incredibly talented poets. It's the age Group that also touched our heart strings, the youngest Artist was 5 and the youngest poet 6. The oldest artist was 82 and the oldest poet being 72.

Here is a link to Lauder Lass's update - enjoy it as much as we have enjoyed spending every second of the hours bringing her on, in a way she understood and understands . .  she is indeed a true inspiration to many and through her many other animals have been understood in a totally different light.

In the meantime if you wish to visit her or send her an email with questions then please feel free to do so.

Thank you.

Do you actually want to feel better without taking so much medication?

Throughout this Site there have been numerous posts on various topics based on all living creatures and the overall health of the same. Not just whether it's to do with I.B.S. Bowel Cancer, stomach or skin issues or depression, to mention just a few.

From the things that we have suggested to each of you who are our Clients, there is not a truer saying than we are what we eat or drink.

Again, there have been numerous posts to do with how our methods of eating and indeed what we eat and drink has almost got to the point that the 'Powers in Control', for example, the Producers Market, the Pharmaceutical Powers that be, are almost controlling us, perhaps even brain washing us to a point.

We are not against Medication as such but there is a happy medium where we can feel 80% better if we eat and drink the correct things for our own specific chemical balance.

We are however, delighted to see and hear that more and more Health Centres are beginning, albeit very slowly, to suggest to their patients that for example, acupuncture, and on a rare occasion they might even suggest Homoeopathy could be an other option.

It is our total belief that, in time, but only if we are all individually strong enough to say "Actually Doctor Smith, we would rather try this way first before trying your medication on offer" but as we said, you have to be strong enough willed otherwise the Medical Profession can roller coaster you in to their slippery slide.

So the message in this is, think first, try to always remember, we are what we eat, so next time you go shopping, truly think about what you are buying and don't just buy a packet - because it looks good or makes your mouth water. If in doubt, or if you want to know more about balancing your specific chemical balance  let us help you to get started towards a healthier lifestyle - both mentally, physically and anatomically. Contact us here or here . . .

Here's to a balanced life for all humans and animals and not an imbalanced lifestyle that the Powers that be seem to be encouraging us to live in.

Some interesting reading  and perhaps this one might make you rethink which way to go forward.

In the meantime we will leave you with a duplicate photo of the one above and we would ask you to take 5 minutes to study it, 2 minutes to think about and the rest of your life to help to get our world back to being human and animal friendly and not a world controlled by the Powers that wish to control the world.

The choice is all ours . .  not theirs . . . we are all entitled to a voice and a choice but the only way our voices and choices can be heard these days is if we stand our ground and believe in what we believe in, and stand together as one.

Could you help to encourage Asda/Walmart to support our Elephants future

Once again Asda is selling elephants, ornamental elephants as well as their bags with elephants printed on each side.

After asking some of the staff if any of the profit, or even a penny per elephant bag or ornament, goes towards supporting the future of our elephants of the world, all of the staff said 'not as far as we were aware'.

After speaking to the staff for approximately 5 minutes each, they were extremely saddened by the reality of our elephants lives and did not realise that one was being brutally murdered every 15 minutes for their tusks nor did they realise the plight that many young calves are in after being left by their dying Mothers or the devastating way that our elephants of Nature's planet are treated to become either street beggars, circus ornaments for humans or  as symbolic icons in different countries often being chained and spurred, bull hooked and their spirits beaten totally out of them.

A typical wound from pressure sores from belts and crates.

Now if you read that last paragraph back, it didn't even take 5 minutes to write, so to narrow it down to a 2  minute conversation is not rocket science and would be very easy for anyone to write down in a letter, perhaps with a few photographs of our elephants suffering as they do on a daily basis, with the added footage that in 15 years the likely hood of only having digital elephants is great.

However, all the staff we spoke to said, you should speak to Head Quarters, in fact you should speak to Asda House one of them said, almost as if he thought something like this might just get a chance of being heard rather than being filtered through the various departments and even then probably getting lost in the process!

When you go on to Chief Inspector Google and type in Asda/Walmart or Asda Power Base both these sites and many of the others gives you an insight to the History of this Multi Billion business which rapidly seems to be taking over our greenbelts and starving our smaller retail stores of custom.

Yet, for all the profits made,  how much of it actually goes back towards our Society or areas which are crying out for help.

Here is one of the items found today, excluding the writing of course . . . .

We have drawn Laxmi on this elephant,
partly because she looks like Laxmi
from Wildlife S.O.S

But then this ornament could also look like little Navaan. from Elephant Nature Park

there were other elephant ornaments, but with harnesses and decorated riding rugs on their backs. As you all know, probably from some of our previous writings on this Blog, Elephants absolutely do not have the anatomy to carry weights, metal crates or indeed humans on their backs so we refused, on principal to buy any 'dressed elephants'

However, now if you look at the anatomical picture below,

you will note that our elephants do not have the same back bone structure in comparison with a horse for example, and that clearly elephants are not built for crates, or indeed cages to be tied on with ratchet straps as tight as possible, sometimes leaving wounds like this one which are often and very sadly hidden under rugs so that humans can't see them.

Then of course there are the poor baby elephants who are often starved of life due to the type of killing or murderous actions their Mother have to endure . .

Is it just that these massive Multi Billion Superstores such as Walmart, Asda's, Sainsbury's etc are not aware of the reality of the cry of our Elephants world or is it just that the 'Powers that be' are too interested in making a profit for their own benefit.

But someone, certainly in the Asda/Walmart World has thought about elephants before otherwise they would not have used elephants as their Logo or indeed their Marketer's would not have bought, probably thousands, if not millions of elephants like the ornament candle burner above, with a view to selling them, yet again completely and utterly for their own profit.

Just think, how many elephants could be helped if just 1 penny from each of the elephant bags or items sold went towards the annual keep of one of the above Elephants or the many others in dire need of help, medical or transport assistance. Or perhaps the money could go towards re-training the Mahouts towards sensitively showing them that kindness works ten fold better than cruelty. Another option could be to support Carol Buckley's Chain free Coral . .

Are you prepared to send a letter asking them to help to keep our elephants from becoming extinct, perhaps you could write to your nearest HQ for Asda's or Walmart or email or post a post on Asda or Walmart's facebook page.

Perhaps you could use some other photo's or send something similar to this or do some research yourself and become as passionate about their future as if there was no tomorrow.

We have an address for their head quarters in Leeds . .  as well as two telephone numbers . .

Asda House,
South Bank,
Gtreat wilson Street,
Leeds

United Kingdom

LS11 5AD.

Telephone 0113 2417732  or 0113 2435432

Above all, always remember there is no harm in asking, after all they can only say yes or no . . .

Remember, the more people who contact them, the more likely someone somewhere might just give in and say okay, we'll support, for example,  Elephant Nature Park for a year, as long as we can have a real life size picture of the elephant we are supporting so that we can stick it up on the entrance of our Stores!  . . wouldn't that just be wonderful if Laxmi or Raju from Wildlife S.O.S or Sunder or many of the others could be a life size picture as you waltz in to Asda's filled with pride knowing that they, thanks to all the supporters who wrote in, are supporting the future of our elephants.
On behalf of all elephants thank you so much.

As a complete opposite, we ended up going in to a another wee shop by default today, perhaps it was meant to be, and the lovely lady, after realising that we work to give all animals and humans their voice and choice, but especially elephants or individuals suffering from Dementia and Alzheimers or Autism or ADHD, gave us two gifts, but two identical gifts,  two special pendants - 'elephant stone' . .  they are beautiful and filled with as much strength and energy as the feel of elephant skin.

one is for us to work with and the other for us to use and leave for our elephants in India and Thailand.

The difference - there we have a little shop, filled with care and a massive heart, making just a fraction in comparison with Walmart or Asda and she, with a complete passion for honesty, care for the survival of the ones under most threat but more importantly a 'kindred spirit' offers to give us two, and expensive, items free, because she feels the power and the cry for our elephants and animals of tomorrow. Thank you so much Julie and what a complete joy it was to meet you.

On behalf of all who suffer . .

But please, there are many more who are suffering ,
we can hear them, can you?

Here are some more links to other Elephant Pages, please help to support them, even just by posting your thoughts.

Thank you
