Links to most of the Elephant facebook pages

In view of there being so many elephant facebook pages, and guaranteed when you are trying to remember which one you were looking for with a specific post, guaranteed you can probably not find it,  so, with this in mind we have decided to create a post dedicated to all the elephant facebook pages, at least the ones that we know of.

If we come across any more we will add them, or if you know of any that are not here, perhaps you would like to add them.

So to conclude this post :

If you are passionate about 1. The health, general well being and the future of all Elephants, 2. The importance of all Elephants being released from Captivity or 3. Against the cruel killings of elephants for their tusks 4.Support the release of elephants who have been cruelly abused like Sunder and would like to keep up to date by joining the Abused elephant Sunder's Fan Club for example or 6 do not believe that young elephants who are found by their Dead Mothers sides and then hijacked, kept in barns for months on end while their spirits are broken till they are trained often in an unnatural and cruel way to become street beggars or 7 Do not believe that Elephants should be trained, again in a cruel way, to be used for rides or circus's, please could you help to support our elephants by linking to some or all of the below mentioned facebook pages.

On behalf of all elephants who need our support and to be given the chance of a lifetime that Nature created for them and not the life that 'Greed' has created for them, thank you all for looking at this post.

The only thing we would ask is that you are considerate towards each Countries beliefs /  Religions and that any comments you make will not, potentially, make the life of an elephant worse than it is already. We all need to be thoughtful towards the best way forward and to consider ways of making those abusers more passionate about the animals under their hands. There is always a way, just sometimes we need to look at things from a different angle.

These have NOT been put in any order so please do not take offence if you discover your Group part way down.  . . thank you.

DescriptionAn estimated 35,000 elephants are dying each year to fuel a growing demand for carved ivory trinkets. If trends continue, the elephant will be extinct within the next 10 years. We believe that only by destroying ivory stockpiles worldwide can it be ensured that illegal ivory cannot be laundered into the system fueling the continued slaughter of elephants across their range. Support our efforts and help end the demand for ivory before it's too late for elephants.

Scotland for Elephants

A group of people in Scotland dedicated to raising awareness about the ivory trade and the fate of elephants across Africa.

DescriptionIt is said that elephants could be extinct by 2025, but the figures change and it could be even sooner than that. With long pregnancies and mating starting in their early twenties, the species don't stand a chance if the killing continues at this rate. While the governments acknowledge the crisis, the elephants still need 'ordinary' people who are determined to raise awareness about the ivory trade and what it does to elephants and humans likewise. This is where we step in.

The Sparkling Elephant

On a flight from TZ to South Africa's famous INDABA trade show Marlies Gabriel shared an aisle and a conversation with a high-volume safari-booking agent from the U.S. When they got to talking about elephants, one of Marlies’ passions, she asked his estimation of what will happen to tourism when the elephants disappear. He was emphatic in his response, “Tourism will cease to exist as we know it.”

Later, when disembarking in SA, Marlies caught sight of the Amarula elephant and an idea was hatched; The Sparkling Elephant Project was born.
Upon returning home, Marlies contacted a local artist and friend, Remy Chama. He and his assistant Ema built a life-sized elephant from welded re-bars and chicken wire and named it Mwalimu. The name sprung from the idea that the elephant should spread the word and teach people about the ills of poaching.

When finished, Mwalimu was carted from Momella to the Karibu Fair in Kisongo where he was an instant hit. Hundreds of people stopped by to see what Mwalimu was all about and to help cover him in shanga (glass beads) threaded on wire. Altogether, people strung 2,000 beads on the elephant.

Welcome to the group Elephant Warrior. Elephants need our support. They are slaughtered for their ivory. They are tormented in zoos , circuses and as working elephants.
Elephants are very social animals and need to be with others. They are intelligent and very sensitive. In circus and zoos elephants suffer terrible distress. There is no place for social interactions. Many are chained for the majority of their life. A lifetime in chains, beaten and suffering from diseases.

Alongside assisting with some children's educational needs, we also work very hard on educating tourists when it comes the the plight of India's elephants. In our hearts we have fallen smitten for dear Laxmi, and as a result we systematically promote her welfare and do what we can to help SOS.

Ele Friends

"Elephants and other animals were not put on this earth to provide us with entertainment. Let's work together and put an end to companies such as Ringling Bros and Have Trunk Will Travel, that continue to exploit these creatures for profit."

"Captive elephants who have lived in zoos or circuses for years, sometimes their entire lives, will not and cannot be returned to the wild. That is why we advocate for zoos, most particularly the Oregon Zoo, to send Packy to sanctuary as a first step to reitiring all of the elephants, and then closing the elephant exhibit, as more than 22 zoos around the country and the world have already done."

Friends of Woodland Park Zoo Elephants

The Big Rumble

Zoos are once again raiding the wild for elephants to put on display. Elephants are not thriving in U.S. zoos, where they are dying faster than they can be bred. The practice of capturing and importing wild-caught elephants is archaic and inhumane, and it flies in the face of all we know about elephants' intelligence, intricate social fabric, sensitivity and self-awareness.

Please remember these guidelines are there to ensure that the focus remains on the plight of the elephants and is not digressed.

We now have 27,900 viewers to this site, how wonderful is that .  . thank you one and all.
May we all continue to promote good health and mental well being for all living creatures.
