Universal Language

Universal language -

We would be interested to know your answer . .

A powerful language which all living creatures use but one which humans (who live in the modern world) tend to ignore or one that they do not realise can be more powerful, as well as so much less threatening than a days worth of conversation.

It is something for example that your own pet uses every minute of the day or elephants use when sensing their route for their daily meander, or something they use when they come across a carcass of their own kind, or something they sense when a neighbouring elephant has lost its' calf. Just as they sense what is good for them to eat and what is not, therefore instinctively and so naturally, but more importantly, teaching their young the same. Just as a herd of sheep or cattle know to head for shelter hours before a rain or snow storm is on the way or when they sense another is about to give birth, or just as an animal, who has been in distress, can sense who is 'safe' to be with and who is not, or as an animal who senses an another animal in distress will often try and help just as this link shows. Just as most animals can make their way to water (apart from most humans except for out back or tribal communities).

So why is it humans (who live in the modern world) have lost this unique art of using THE most powerful language of all 'Universal language' yet tribes and their families have not? The answer is simple really. Life in the modern world has become too easy, press a button and your heating, cooker, hot water, kettle, electric blanket, light and many other things go on.

Exactly the same ease happens when you walk down the aisles of shops or supermarket and your eyes or your own thoughts of what's easiest or quickest to cook take over and not your inner most senses or the basic animal instinct when, if used, instinctively would say no ' that's not good or healthy. Or on a different tack sensing what this person or that animal is feeling without having to ask them or without having to use our tongues by saying ' and what's up today then?'. Life in the modern world has taken a turn for the worse, but yet, if universal language was used as well as our own language then the contentment and understanding for each other, no matter the animal or breed, would be 100% better than it is today in both communicating with those with communication issues as well as letting our animal kingdom live in a much more understanding world and not one one where the majority live in fear or react because of the kind of language humans think or try try to instill in their animals as being acceptable behaviour, yet if an equal balance of communication skills were used then all animals and humans would be 100% more accommodating and considerate towards each other.

Often we, at Nature's Physician, are asked to resolve physical, internal health and psychological issues which humans are having with their animals (as well as within family units) and all that is required to resolve many of these issues is something that all animals utilize on a minute and daily basis -'Universal language' and an understanding of the same. These are THE most important tools that we ALL have, but sadly tend not to use to their full potential, perhaps because our world has become too easy but ultimately seems now to be controlled by the Powers that be within Pharmaceutical and Producers market. Okay, and what are these tools we can hear you saying. Well, it's simple, it's our eyes and ears and the way we use or position our body language at any given time, without using any verbal language at all.

However, it also seems that many domesticated animals have learnt to use their 'basic instinct' to their advantage. Perhaps we could list a few examples :

  • Many a cat knows to change it's purr when being or wanting stroked or if it wants some more food
  • Many a dog knows to put on that 'puppy dog' look to get what he/she wants
  • Pet sheep or calves know to bleat, or run round your ankles to get more attention/feed
  • Horses know to pop their head over the feed room door for that extra treat
Trusting larger animals also know how to tell you when they want something or where they want to be scratched as they gently sidle up to you so that the exact area where they wish their attention can be reached.

So could it in fact be that they are trying hard to show us that Universal language is possible for all to use!

Let's look at it from an other simple angle, an angle that many of you can possibly relate to. We are often asked to visit boisterous or disobedient dogs or supposedly disobedient dogs or perhaps we could be so bold as to say 'misunderstood' dogs. So, with this in mind let us set a scene. You knock on a door to a troubled canine home. An adult answers, but in the background racing to the door you can hear a dog and 3 children all desperately trying hard to see who it is. The adult then asks the dog to move as well as the children, some of them retreat to the nearest window but the others ignore what is being asked of them, however the dog manages to sneak between all the legs and is out the door before you can say boo to a goose! In the interim however the adult raises his/her voice to the children who have not moved and, in the same voice/pitch, asks the dog to move back but all ignore the request. But why? Could it be that there is regular shouting in the home to which the children have taught themselves to turn a deaf ear to, could it be that the dog is so used to this same tone as well as sensing that the kids ignore the request after the third or fourth time so why shouldn't he, or could it be that the correct pitch has not been used or indeed even thought about for the particular dog which would automatically relay ''I'd better do' pitch.

However, if we give the latter comment an extra thought, if a larger animal is being scratched or groomed and moves slightly in a different direction, sadly many humans move with the larger animal and continues to scratch where the human wants to scratch but does not seem to realize that the animal is actually moving to where he/she wants scratched.

On a different tack, there are numerous videos and you tube footage's of animals helping other animals when in distress, yet taking a prime example of 'the human state of mind' let's consider the tribes who have been chased out of their ancestral lands for wealthy Arabs to build their new 'dream houses' on, but without a single hint or indeed gesture of building the Tribes people a home or indeed shelters in exchange anywhere else, in fact the Tribes peoples houses have been burnt to the ground and they have been chased off the land?

Each human has legs, a heart, lungs, a voice, a head, a brain and should, under most circumstances, be considered equal and their needs respected where necessary

Why has the majority of the Human world become so greedy, hurtful, dictatorial and controlling.

Another example, 100 years ago we had 200,000 elephants, now in China alone there are only approximately 4,000, and with 96 being brutally poached, murdered chainsawed to death on a daily basis it is likely that they will become extinct within 20 years - -  and why, because of complete and utter greed. So, the largest animals of our planet will undoubtedly become only a digital figment of our imagination and why, because of human greed. Did we create elephants in the first place? did we create rhino's? what makes the Powers that be think they should murder such animals that were put on our planet to walk and share it with us. Links to Elephant pages to support.

Agreeably we may not be able to do much at the top of the power trees but what we can do is start to reintroduce Universal language within our own homes and surrounding environments

Why not start to make a difference to your world around you today – here are a few pointers.

  • Give your whole family a break from talking for half an hour a day, use expressions instead
  • Encourage all to share the workload in the home, especially children and try kindly to reduce what you presently expect the elderly to do
  • Take a gift to an elderly person who you know rarely sees anyone (link to suggestions for the elderly) or to support some one who has been taken in to hospital but whose family live far away and can't get to the hospital for a few hours
  • Take time to sit on the floor with your dog and be a dog with him or her, play and act like a dog instead of being at the end of a dictatorial lead or at the end of a patting hand
  • Take time to sit in the paddock with your horse, cow or elephant and see how they could be made happier or what additional positive stimulation you could give them, especially if they are showing signs of negative behaviour
  • Take time to play with your children on their level
  • Take time to see the world from someone else s eyes no matter whether human or animal

There are many more on our list of to do's but these will hopefully be a good base line for you all to start with.

Let's make a difference to the world around us and spread it so that it goes far and wide and just watch the positive ripple effect it will have on others whether man or beast.

On behalf of your own health, all children and animals of tomorrow and all those around you, to reduce the Cancers, the Skin Issues, I.B.S and Mental health issues, to mention just a few, please start today to create a healthier world for all NOW not tomorrow or the next day. If we don't do something about it now our present existence and state of health will be even more controlled than it is already.

If you feel you would like to make a difference but can not see a way forward with an animal or human (young or old) please do not hesitate to ask us for help.

Remembrance Day - Humans remembered - Animals forgotten - Animal Wreath

Many of you will be going to Services soon, remembering all humans who lost their lives throughout the war years, but how many button holes will be proudly wearing purple poppies?

Or worse still, how many people, from all walks and platforms of life are aware of what a purple poppy means . .  you will be hugely disappointed! perhaps 1 in approximately 350 know . . can you do something to change this?

Elephants, Horses, Dogs, Cats, Pigeons, Bears similar to  Wojtek  and many more animals suffered exactly the same as many humans, often much worse as they were on the front line on many occasions.

And the horse on the left above is really enjoying this!

Look at the fear in this horses eye!

Sad as it is attending all Remembrance Services but very few people today even give our animals who lost their lives for us a moments thought.

Our animals never chose to go or indeed to be trained to go to war, the latter often being difficult and painful for them until they learnt what it was that humans dictated of them. But all the same, they fought for our Countries and should be acknowledged for this.

As an additional footnote did you all know that the U.K alone imported 10's of 1,000's of horses from the U.S. to participate and for those who survived - their future was not rosy !

Next year, please, on behalf of all animals who lost their lives on behalf of us - wear a purple poppy as well. Thank you

We have found a few links for you to peruse, perhaps even just for a second, but for each animal you see, perhaps spare a moment for them and of course for all the Inspectors, Vets, Nurses and other individuals who lost their lives trying to save and nurse all our wounded animals back to good health again.

For every animal you see today remember those who have gone before  . . . thank you.

Perhaps you could encourage your Town or Village to have Purple Poppies available next year.

2015

Follow up :

A beautiful wreath was also placed at Tuddenham St Mary, near Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, England by Valerie Hellard, in the centre of Valerie's wreath she put a silhouette of  a Horse, Dog, Pigeon. Elephant, Camel and a Donkey - how so thoughtful. Perhaps if you are passing you would like to stop and give a moments thoughts to all the animals who suffered. On behalf of millions, thank you.

Hopefully, next year,  more schools, up and down the Country can be encouraged to include the odd purple poppy in their creations.

Well done Scotland and England for remembering the animals in 2015.

As a follow up to a Bulletin on Jeremy Vine's Radio Two  programme  (11/11/15) when animals were given all of about 1. 5 minutes of a mention during approximately a 20 minute show our Founders response was this

" When you have a lengthy drive ahead, often the radio is turned on to keep you alert and occupied or to keep your mind off things. Radio 2 (with it's x amount of million listeners) is often the station I personally turn to or Classical FM to be honest".

This late morning I had just started my hour long journey for a meeting when the discussion on Poppies started. As you know you aren't allowed to drive and phone, and certainly aren't able to write down any telephone numbers whilst driving. So Jeremy's conversation today, for at least the first 15 minutes of this very short coverage on the Poppy topic, started off and mainly consisted of ' do you wear the Red, Black or white Poppy with one person being interviewed from each Poppy Department - approximately at the 16th minute of this particular show telephone calls were accepted, again, the black, red, and white poppies were mentioned, and only during the last few minutes, courtesy of one person who had left a message which was then transmitted by Jeremy (for all of about 5 seconds) at last,  the purple poppy was mentioned (remembering all the animals who had to suffer 2.3 million roughly).

Having had to listen to nothing but humans, humans, humans and more humans of various different cultures who had to suffer, I finally had had enough, I pulled up, but prior to doing so there was one lady who was interviewed for all of about 45 seconds on the Blue coloured poppy. Immediately after  this interview Jeremy said  he would love to hear from someone about the purple poppy.

Having pulled up by this stage, I spent 1 minute and a half trying to phone them, but to no avail as they were engaged,I tried again shortly after, but by this time, although I had got through, I was told they had gone on to the next topic Wetherspoons, sorry! If Jeremy had said they would like to hear from someone about the purple poppy I would not have wasted my time, yet, did he really mean that with approximately 120 seconds of the show left!

Completely disappointed in Jeremy's or Radio 2's research in to this topic otherwise the two million plus animals who also stood at the front, middle and back line who also lost their lives would have been given a mention.

10's of 1000's horses were imported from the States to the UK alone, Elephants, dogs, pigeons, bears, cows, bulls, dolphins, hawks, Lizards, sea lions and monkeys to mention just a few of the other animals who suffered for us and by us - the training for some of these animals if seen would have broken your hearts.

I personally propose instead of the hype being mainly around the red poppy that a multi coloured poppy is brought in and the funds from it be split, with proof of where the funds go to. A human is a human after all, and an animal is an animal and each served or had no option but to serve their relevant country. Please, on behalf of all animals who died for us and after all, killed by the Human race, give them the annual recognition they truly deserve.

On behalf of all animals who are so often forgotten, from here on in, please remember them as well as all the people, families and children. Thank you

Collies . . . . the importance of eye to eye contact. . . .

As you know we help numerous people with many animal issues but this post is on Canine issues, we come across dogs of all ages and from all walks of life, some rescues, some almost lost cases, and then the wonderful endearing and lovable pups.

One of the most common issues in our area however seems to be with Collies and Terriers and it is with this in mind that we thought we would share this little, but very important hint of help with you.

All dogs are extremely intelligent but each animal needs to be understood for its' own qualities and each quality then nurtured to its' best potential. But this potential needs to be understood on a contented or happy 50/50 communication level, not on a 75/25 basis or indeed a 25/75 basis. If the latter is the case then either the dog or the human is in control or not in control and ultimately one or other will be unhappy, frustrated or confused.

It is the 50/50 communication level that we whole heartedly encourage because without problems will be afoot.

For Collies and Terriers we can not stress the importance of eye to eye contact enough, without this then the issues you may come across are endless but here are just a few :

  • Select deafness
  • Disobedience
  • Inability to stop your dog from barking
  • Negative behaviour
  • Control issues
  • Separation anxiety
  • Domineering walking on a lead
  • Lack of respect
  • Growling
to mention just a few.

However, with the special understanding of 50/50 and correct eye to eye contact this will initiate fantastic results.

So, with this in mind, and if you are having trouble with your dog here are a couple of little testers to see how your dog communicates with you :

We would however stress that if you have rescued a Collie or Terrier who is timid or sensitive please reduce your eye contact with them until they gain your trust. If the trust is taking a while to come round or if you are having trouble, please contact us for either a one to one Session online, or a visit or ask someone in your area to help. This kind of eye to eye contact can also be too much for the regular dog - unless they have done something wrong of course! but genuinely wrong as in considered in the Canine world. Feel free to share this link so that it can perhaps help others
  • When you let your dog out of the back door, do you open it and let him/her out, or when you put your hand on the door handle do you look at your dogs eyes first to ask them with pure eye to eye contact whether he/she want out or not, (not using any vocals at all)
  • When you give your dog a treat, do you give his/her treat as soon as he/she has sat down? or do you ask him/her to sit, and then with your eyes ask him/her for eye to eye contact then give him/her a treat.
  • When you give your dog his/her tea, do you make it up and put it straight down and tell him/her just to go for it or ' there you go' or do you ask him/her to look at you with eye to eye contact first and then put it down.
So having read the above . . what kind of a relationship do you feel you have with your dog?

If you try the methods in large writing, with 100% eye contact being given, the next time your dog barks for example, call his/her name and bend your body over with your back being at a 45 degree angle to your legs (if possible), immediately STARE eye to eye and lower your voice an octave and say ENOUGH, but the GH at the end of ENOUGH needs to be exaggerated  . .  this to a Collie and a Terrier sounds like a growl . .

Good luck with this little experiment.

The above is just a small hint that should help you straight away with the basic issues that can be triggered from about 4 months old. Feel free to contact us  or if this has been helpful to you perhaps you would like to go to the top right hand side of this page and press the like button to connect to our facebook page.

In the meantime you would be welcome to come along to The Puppy Workshop starting 26th August  However, as it says on the link participants need to contact us by the 19th August to secure a place. Perhaps see you there.

Welcome to one of our photo collages. . .

Horses, Dogs,  Elephants, Rabbits, Cats, Humans, Talks, Seminars, Food/Diet sheets, Computers, Art work with young and old, Health/skin issues, I.B.S., Acid reflux and many more - Variety is the spice of life they say and we couldn't agree more.

We are extremely passionate about giving  every living  creature a voice and a choice and for all to hold a genuine 50/50 understanding of each other and actively promote this method with others.

If you wish or dream of using this technique in your every day life contact us for further information. The results are astonishing.

On behalf of many individuals who have benefited from this method and all those who could, thank you for taking time to read this post.
