Could you help to encourage Asda/Walmart to support our Elephants future

Once again Asda is selling elephants, ornamental elephants as well as their bags with elephants printed on each side.

After asking some of the staff if any of the profit, or even a penny per elephant bag or ornament, goes towards supporting the future of our elephants of the world, all of the staff said 'not as far as we were aware'.

After speaking to the staff for approximately 5 minutes each, they were extremely saddened by the reality of our elephants lives and did not realise that one was being brutally murdered every 15 minutes for their tusks nor did they realise the plight that many young calves are in after being left by their dying Mothers or the devastating way that our elephants of Nature's planet are treated to become either street beggars, circus ornaments for humans or  as symbolic icons in different countries often being chained and spurred, bull hooked and their spirits beaten totally out of them.

A typical wound from pressure sores from belts and crates.

Now if you read that last paragraph back, it didn't even take 5 minutes to write, so to narrow it down to a 2  minute conversation is not rocket science and would be very easy for anyone to write down in a letter, perhaps with a few photographs of our elephants suffering as they do on a daily basis, with the added footage that in 15 years the likely hood of only having digital elephants is great.

However, all the staff we spoke to said, you should speak to Head Quarters, in fact you should speak to Asda House one of them said, almost as if he thought something like this might just get a chance of being heard rather than being filtered through the various departments and even then probably getting lost in the process!

When you go on to Chief Inspector Google and type in Asda/Walmart or Asda Power Base both these sites and many of the others gives you an insight to the History of this Multi Billion business which rapidly seems to be taking over our greenbelts and starving our smaller retail stores of custom.

Yet, for all the profits made,  how much of it actually goes back towards our Society or areas which are crying out for help.

Here is one of the items found today, excluding the writing of course . . . .

We have drawn Laxmi on this elephant,
partly because she looks like Laxmi
from Wildlife S.O.S

But then this ornament could also look like little Navaan. from Elephant Nature Park

there were other elephant ornaments, but with harnesses and decorated riding rugs on their backs. As you all know, probably from some of our previous writings on this Blog, Elephants absolutely do not have the anatomy to carry weights, metal crates or indeed humans on their backs so we refused, on principal to buy any 'dressed elephants'

However, now if you look at the anatomical picture below,

you will note that our elephants do not have the same back bone structure in comparison with a horse for example, and that clearly elephants are not built for crates, or indeed cages to be tied on with ratchet straps as tight as possible, sometimes leaving wounds like this one which are often and very sadly hidden under rugs so that humans can't see them.

Then of course there are the poor baby elephants who are often starved of life due to the type of killing or murderous actions their Mother have to endure . .

Is it just that these massive Multi Billion Superstores such as Walmart, Asda's, Sainsbury's etc are not aware of the reality of the cry of our Elephants world or is it just that the 'Powers that be' are too interested in making a profit for their own benefit.

But someone, certainly in the Asda/Walmart World has thought about elephants before otherwise they would not have used elephants as their Logo or indeed their Marketer's would not have bought, probably thousands, if not millions of elephants like the ornament candle burner above, with a view to selling them, yet again completely and utterly for their own profit.

Just think, how many elephants could be helped if just 1 penny from each of the elephant bags or items sold went towards the annual keep of one of the above Elephants or the many others in dire need of help, medical or transport assistance. Or perhaps the money could go towards re-training the Mahouts towards sensitively showing them that kindness works ten fold better than cruelty. Another option could be to support Carol Buckley's Chain free Coral . .

Are you prepared to send a letter asking them to help to keep our elephants from becoming extinct, perhaps you could write to your nearest HQ for Asda's or Walmart or email or post a post on Asda or Walmart's facebook page.

Perhaps you could use some other photo's or send something similar to this or do some research yourself and become as passionate about their future as if there was no tomorrow.

We have an address for their head quarters in Leeds . .  as well as two telephone numbers . .

Asda House,
South Bank,
Gtreat wilson Street,

Telephone 0113 2417732  or 0113 2435432

Above all, always remember there is no harm in asking, after all they can only say yes or no . . .

Remember, the more people who contact them, the more likely someone somewhere might just give in and say okay, we'll support, for example,  Elephant Nature Park for a year, as long as we can have a real life size picture of the elephant we are supporting so that we can stick it up on the entrance of our Stores!  . . wouldn't that just be wonderful if Laxmi or Raju from Wildlife S.O.S or Sunder or many of the others could be a life size picture as you waltz in to Asda's filled with pride knowing that they, thanks to all the supporters who wrote in, are supporting the future of our elephants.
On behalf of all elephants thank you so much.

As a complete opposite, we ended up going in to a another wee shop by default today, perhaps it was meant to be, and the lovely lady, after realising that we work to give all animals and humans their voice and choice, but especially elephants or individuals suffering from Dementia and Alzheimers or Autism or ADHD, gave us two gifts, but two identical gifts,  two special pendants - 'elephant stone' . .  they are beautiful and filled with as much strength and energy as the feel of elephant skin.

one is for us to work with and the other for us to use and leave for our elephants in India and Thailand.

The difference - there we have a little shop, filled with care and a massive heart, making just a fraction in comparison with Walmart or Asda and she, with a complete passion for honesty, care for the survival of the ones under most threat but more importantly a 'kindred spirit' offers to give us two, and expensive, items free, because she feels the power and the cry for our elephants and animals of tomorrow. Thank you so much Julie and what a complete joy it was to meet you.

On behalf of all who suffer . .

But please, there are many more who are suffering ,
we can hear them, can you?

Here are some more links to other Elephant Pages, please help to support them, even just by posting your thoughts.

Thank you

Universal Language

Universal language -

We would be interested to know your answer . .

A powerful language which all living creatures use but one which humans (who live in the modern world) tend to ignore or one that they do not realise can be more powerful, as well as so much less threatening than a days worth of conversation.

It is something for example that your own pet uses every minute of the day or elephants use when sensing their route for their daily meander, or something they use when they come across a carcass of their own kind, or something they sense when a neighbouring elephant has lost its' calf. Just as they sense what is good for them to eat and what is not, therefore instinctively and so naturally, but more importantly, teaching their young the same. Just as a herd of sheep or cattle know to head for shelter hours before a rain or snow storm is on the way or when they sense another is about to give birth, or just as an animal, who has been in distress, can sense who is 'safe' to be with and who is not, or as an animal who senses an another animal in distress will often try and help just as this link shows. Just as most animals can make their way to water (apart from most humans except for out back or tribal communities).

So why is it humans (who live in the modern world) have lost this unique art of using THE most powerful language of all 'Universal language' yet tribes and their families have not? The answer is simple really. Life in the modern world has become too easy, press a button and your heating, cooker, hot water, kettle, electric blanket, light and many other things go on.

Exactly the same ease happens when you walk down the aisles of shops or supermarket and your eyes or your own thoughts of what's easiest or quickest to cook take over and not your inner most senses or the basic animal instinct when, if used, instinctively would say no ' that's not good or healthy. Or on a different tack sensing what this person or that animal is feeling without having to ask them or without having to use our tongues by saying ' and what's up today then?'. Life in the modern world has taken a turn for the worse, but yet, if universal language was used as well as our own language then the contentment and understanding for each other, no matter the animal or breed, would be 100% better than it is today in both communicating with those with communication issues as well as letting our animal kingdom live in a much more understanding world and not one one where the majority live in fear or react because of the kind of language humans think or try try to instill in their animals as being acceptable behaviour, yet if an equal balance of communication skills were used then all animals and humans would be 100% more accommodating and considerate towards each other.

Often we, at Nature's Physician, are asked to resolve physical, internal health and psychological issues which humans are having with their animals (as well as within family units) and all that is required to resolve many of these issues is something that all animals utilize on a minute and daily basis -'Universal language' and an understanding of the same. These are THE most important tools that we ALL have, but sadly tend not to use to their full potential, perhaps because our world has become too easy but ultimately seems now to be controlled by the Powers that be within Pharmaceutical and Producers market. Okay, and what are these tools we can hear you saying. Well, it's simple, it's our eyes and ears and the way we use or position our body language at any given time, without using any verbal language at all.

However, it also seems that many domesticated animals have learnt to use their 'basic instinct' to their advantage. Perhaps we could list a few examples :

  • Many a cat knows to change it's purr when being or wanting stroked or if it wants some more food
  • Many a dog knows to put on that 'puppy dog' look to get what he/she wants
  • Pet sheep or calves know to bleat, or run round your ankles to get more attention/feed
  • Horses know to pop their head over the feed room door for that extra treat
Trusting larger animals also know how to tell you when they want something or where they want to be scratched as they gently sidle up to you so that the exact area where they wish their attention can be reached.

So could it in fact be that they are trying hard to show us that Universal language is possible for all to use!

Let's look at it from an other simple angle, an angle that many of you can possibly relate to. We are often asked to visit boisterous or disobedient dogs or supposedly disobedient dogs or perhaps we could be so bold as to say 'misunderstood' dogs. So, with this in mind let us set a scene. You knock on a door to a troubled canine home. An adult answers, but in the background racing to the door you can hear a dog and 3 children all desperately trying hard to see who it is. The adult then asks the dog to move as well as the children, some of them retreat to the nearest window but the others ignore what is being asked of them, however the dog manages to sneak between all the legs and is out the door before you can say boo to a goose! In the interim however the adult raises his/her voice to the children who have not moved and, in the same voice/pitch, asks the dog to move back but all ignore the request. But why? Could it be that there is regular shouting in the home to which the children have taught themselves to turn a deaf ear to, could it be that the dog is so used to this same tone as well as sensing that the kids ignore the request after the third or fourth time so why shouldn't he, or could it be that the correct pitch has not been used or indeed even thought about for the particular dog which would automatically relay ''I'd better do' pitch.

However, if we give the latter comment an extra thought, if a larger animal is being scratched or groomed and moves slightly in a different direction, sadly many humans move with the larger animal and continues to scratch where the human wants to scratch but does not seem to realize that the animal is actually moving to where he/she wants scratched.

On a different tack, there are numerous videos and you tube footage's of animals helping other animals when in distress, yet taking a prime example of 'the human state of mind' let's consider the tribes who have been chased out of their ancestral lands for wealthy Arabs to build their new 'dream houses' on, but without a single hint or indeed gesture of building the Tribes people a home or indeed shelters in exchange anywhere else, in fact the Tribes peoples houses have been burnt to the ground and they have been chased off the land?

Each human has legs, a heart, lungs, a voice, a head, a brain and should, under most circumstances, be considered equal and their needs respected where necessary

Why has the majority of the Human world become so greedy, hurtful, dictatorial and controlling.

Another example, 100 years ago we had 200,000 elephants, now in China alone there are only approximately 4,000, and with 96 being brutally poached, murdered chainsawed to death on a daily basis it is likely that they will become extinct within 20 years - -  and why, because of complete and utter greed. So, the largest animals of our planet will undoubtedly become only a digital figment of our imagination and why, because of human greed. Did we create elephants in the first place? did we create rhino's? what makes the Powers that be think they should murder such animals that were put on our planet to walk and share it with us. Links to Elephant pages to support.

Agreeably we may not be able to do much at the top of the power trees but what we can do is start to reintroduce Universal language within our own homes and surrounding environments

Why not start to make a difference to your world around you today – here are a few pointers.

  • Give your whole family a break from talking for half an hour a day, use expressions instead
  • Encourage all to share the workload in the home, especially children and try kindly to reduce what you presently expect the elderly to do
  • Take a gift to an elderly person who you know rarely sees anyone (link to suggestions for the elderly) or to support some one who has been taken in to hospital but whose family live far away and can't get to the hospital for a few hours
  • Take time to sit on the floor with your dog and be a dog with him or her, play and act like a dog instead of being at the end of a dictatorial lead or at the end of a patting hand
  • Take time to sit in the paddock with your horse, cow or elephant and see how they could be made happier or what additional positive stimulation you could give them, especially if they are showing signs of negative behaviour
  • Take time to play with your children on their level
  • Take time to see the world from someone else s eyes no matter whether human or animal

There are many more on our list of to do's but these will hopefully be a good base line for you all to start with.

Let's make a difference to the world around us and spread it so that it goes far and wide and just watch the positive ripple effect it will have on others whether man or beast.

On behalf of your own health, all children and animals of tomorrow and all those around you, to reduce the Cancers, the Skin Issues, I.B.S and Mental health issues, to mention just a few, please start today to create a healthier world for all NOW not tomorrow or the next day. If we don't do something about it now our present existence and state of health will be even more controlled than it is already.

If you feel you would like to make a difference but can not see a way forward with an animal or human (young or old) please do not hesitate to ask us for help.

Your help is needed . . . please watch this video . . .

Part of our passion and dedication is towards giving all animals a voice and their own choice in their book of life rather than humans dictating what kind of a life they think animals should live.

With this in mind we are concentrating tonight on the life of one of the most awesome animals of our planet - The elephants.

This link is a brief  but honest and passionate view point on the existence of our elephants of today, some of which is Historic and the methods of care should, in this day and age, be completely banned.

We would ask you to take 5 minutes out to look at the above video post and perhaps afterwards share it on your own page.

Remembrance Day - Humans remembered - Animals forgotten - Animal Wreath

Many of you will be going to Services soon, remembering all humans who lost their lives throughout the war years, but how many button holes will be proudly wearing purple poppies?

Or worse still, how many people, from all walks and platforms of life are aware of what a purple poppy means . .  you will be hugely disappointed! perhaps 1 in approximately 350 know . . can you do something to change this?

Elephants, Horses, Dogs, Cats, Pigeons, Bears similar to  Wojtek  and many more animals suffered exactly the same as many humans, often much worse as they were on the front line on many occasions.

And the horse on the left above is really enjoying this!

Look at the fear in this horses eye!

Sad as it is attending all Remembrance Services but very few people today even give our animals who lost their lives for us a moments thought.

Our animals never chose to go or indeed to be trained to go to war, the latter often being difficult and painful for them until they learnt what it was that humans dictated of them. But all the same, they fought for our Countries and should be acknowledged for this.

As an additional footnote did you all know that the U.K alone imported 10's of 1,000's of horses from the U.S. to participate and for those who survived - their future was not rosy !

Next year, please, on behalf of all animals who lost their lives on behalf of us - wear a purple poppy as well. Thank you

We have found a few links for you to peruse, perhaps even just for a second, but for each animal you see, perhaps spare a moment for them and of course for all the Inspectors, Vets, Nurses and other individuals who lost their lives trying to save and nurse all our wounded animals back to good health again.

For every animal you see today remember those who have gone before  . . . thank you.

Perhaps you could encourage your Town or Village to have Purple Poppies available next year.

2015

Follow up :

A beautiful wreath was also placed at Tuddenham St Mary, near Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, England by Valerie Hellard, in the centre of Valerie's wreath she put a silhouette of  a Horse, Dog, Pigeon. Elephant, Camel and a Donkey - how so thoughtful. Perhaps if you are passing you would like to stop and give a moments thoughts to all the animals who suffered. On behalf of millions, thank you.

Hopefully, next year,  more schools, up and down the Country can be encouraged to include the odd purple poppy in their creations.

Well done Scotland and England for remembering the animals in 2015.

As a follow up to a Bulletin on Jeremy Vine's Radio Two  programme  (11/11/15) when animals were given all of about 1. 5 minutes of a mention during approximately a 20 minute show our Founders response was this

" When you have a lengthy drive ahead, often the radio is turned on to keep you alert and occupied or to keep your mind off things. Radio 2 (with it's x amount of million listeners) is often the station I personally turn to or Classical FM to be honest".

This late morning I had just started my hour long journey for a meeting when the discussion on Poppies started. As you know you aren't allowed to drive and phone, and certainly aren't able to write down any telephone numbers whilst driving. So Jeremy's conversation today, for at least the first 15 minutes of this very short coverage on the Poppy topic, started off and mainly consisted of ' do you wear the Red, Black or white Poppy with one person being interviewed from each Poppy Department - approximately at the 16th minute of this particular show telephone calls were accepted, again, the black, red, and white poppies were mentioned, and only during the last few minutes, courtesy of one person who had left a message which was then transmitted by Jeremy (for all of about 5 seconds) at last,  the purple poppy was mentioned (remembering all the animals who had to suffer 2.3 million roughly).

Having had to listen to nothing but humans, humans, humans and more humans of various different cultures who had to suffer, I finally had had enough, I pulled up, but prior to doing so there was one lady who was interviewed for all of about 45 seconds on the Blue coloured poppy. Immediately after  this interview Jeremy said  he would love to hear from someone about the purple poppy.

Having pulled up by this stage, I spent 1 minute and a half trying to phone them, but to no avail as they were engaged,I tried again shortly after, but by this time, although I had got through, I was told they had gone on to the next topic Wetherspoons, sorry! If Jeremy had said they would like to hear from someone about the purple poppy I would not have wasted my time, yet, did he really mean that with approximately 120 seconds of the show left!

Completely disappointed in Jeremy's or Radio 2's research in to this topic otherwise the two million plus animals who also stood at the front, middle and back line who also lost their lives would have been given a mention.

10's of 1000's horses were imported from the States to the UK alone, Elephants, dogs, pigeons, bears, cows, bulls, dolphins, hawks, Lizards, sea lions and monkeys to mention just a few of the other animals who suffered for us and by us - the training for some of these animals if seen would have broken your hearts.

I personally propose instead of the hype being mainly around the red poppy that a multi coloured poppy is brought in and the funds from it be split, with proof of where the funds go to. A human is a human after all, and an animal is an animal and each served or had no option but to serve their relevant country. Please, on behalf of all animals who died for us and after all, killed by the Human race, give them the annual recognition they truly deserve.

On behalf of all animals who are so often forgotten, from here on in, please remember them as well as all the people, families and children. Thank you

Elephant drums 'The passion within'

No words are needed for this . . .  the talent and passion this young lady has put in to creating this amazing piece of drum work on behalf of all elephants is amazing, if only the rest of the world, the ones filled with greed could turn their passion from greed to compassion -  what a difference it would make to our Elephants of today and tomorrow next year and in 100 years time.

Sainsbury's Elephants bags - a % of the cost of these bags should go towards our Elephants

Could Sainsbury's help our Elephants . . . . .

Driving along a road today we spotted a couple of people carrying orange coloured hold all shopping bags, orange being a refreshing and unusual colour for shopping bags we took a closer look. Upon closer inspection the thing that totally caught our attention was that on both sides there was a coloured picture of an elephant. Wow, we thought somewhere in this world there is another Group supporting elephants, we stopped the car and asked where they managed to get their bags from - ' Sainsbury's ' they said. We happened to be just ten miles away from a Sainsbury's so we decided to pop in to see if we could find one - - eventually we did, costing 50p no less.

However one side of the bag says:

" I'm Strong and sturdy'"

the other side says

" I'm reliable. You can rely on me to carry heavy loads with ease. Don't forget me!"

Although Sainsbury's bags may be strong and sturdy, we felt saddened that the other side said " you can rely on me to carry heavy loads" well, we may be able to rely on their bags but we should not be relying on our Elephants, then we were softened again at " Don't forget me"  but it is clear that Sainsbury's are forgetting all about our Elephants because not a penny of their 50p goes towards one of the most murdered largest breed of animals on our planet.

Knowing very well that at least 30 elephants are being poached and killed with chainsaws and hacksaws - all for their tusks - on a daily basis and many of their young calves who are sadly left beside their dying Mothers,  are being hijacked and many horribly beaten, electric shocked and bull hooked to become street beggars or circus elephants or worse still Captive Zoo elephants - never to be free again, others end up like this.

So, we wondered whether Sainsbury's actually put anything from their 50p bags towards elephant causes. There surely must be one person in each town, village or country of our Universe who has as big a heart as this Gentle man - Gary Roberts,  or check the Outlook BBC World Service post dated 14/09/03, and then check out the update on the lone rescued calf

Back to Sainsbury's . . .

Having asked them at the particular store we were in, none of the staff seemed to know why they chose elephants so they gave us their contact details so that we could inquire further.  http://www.sainsburys.co.uk/sol/contact_us/contact_us.jsp.

Upon our return we decided to phone Sainsbury's to ask them, our first comment was, ' how lovely that you are using elephants for your bags, we were just wondering if you knew why Sainsbury's used elephants, the Gentleman's response was : why, do you like them?. Yes of course we said, if you hang on I will speak to our office and find out the reasoning behind it. A few moments later, and a few adverts later on the type of chickens they use and the amount of trees that have supported the planting of, the chap returned with no particular reasoning behind elephants being used.

We then asked whether they knew that China alone now has only approximately 4000 elephants left in comparison with the approx 150,000 that they had 100 years ago, and that approximately 30 elephants are being brutally murdered for their tusks and many of the calves, left stranded by their dying Mothers, are being hijacked, many brutally chained and beaten to become street beggars. Our next question to them was, does any of the 50p go towards any Elephants Support Groups, the gentleman said, I am not sure,  I'm sorry, I'll need to go and ask, well, a few moments later, after having to listen to their advert on the amount of trees they have planted and where they get their meat from again, her returned and said, no sorry, it doesn't but if you want you could write in to our Contact point to ask if they could put a % of the 50p towards them.

With this in mind we would like to ask everyone who shops at Sainsbury's to contact Sainsbury's to ask them to put just a small amount per bag sale towards a Central Elephant fund point or towards somewhere like Elephants Without Borders, or Abused elephant Sunder's Fan Club or a Coral that is needed for elephants perhaps through Carol Buckley or Lek Chairlet or Elephant Aid International (Carol Buckley).

Just think if 100 people bought one of these bags each and only 10p of the 50p went towards the elephants then that's 10.00 per day . . imagine what that could go towards.

The email address we were given was : customer.service.co.uk

Come on folks, let's help our ever decreasing elephants, let's secure their future and help their future young to be safe - on behalf of many - thank you, so, so much. Please contact Sainsbury's. As the gentleman suggested email them

mike.Coupe@sainsburys.co.uk He is the CEO for Sainsburys - Thank you Hazel and Marie for all your support and of course all who have commented on the various elephant pages including March for Elephants .

Whilst briefly on March for Elephants did you all know that our elephants are hugely supported and helped by Richard Branson, Stephen Fry, Ricky Gervais, Joanna Lumley, Michaela Strachan, Bill Bailey, and more!  Wouldn't it be wonderful if the Director of Sainsbury's could join in!

So far the London march has Nicky Campbell, Simon Jones, Stanley Johnson, and Dominic Dyer and more following and taking an active part in the Elephant March this year.

If Sainsbury's could put something towards Elephants that would be a fantastic start  - after all they make a mint out of all of us.
It doesn't take much to see that Sainsbury's clearly makes millions, surely a few hundred wouldn't be missed, especially if it's to protect an animal who is brutally killed and domineered by Humans and who, if we are not careful will become totally extinct.

It is thanks to the hard work from people like Carol Buckley, Elephant Aid International and Elephants without Borders , Lek Chailert and many others who keep us up to date on our Elephants as well as do their very best to keep them safe.

In another 100 years we want to see 10,000 elephants instead of none, the latter will be the case if we don't protect them now.
